Born on August 27th in Abilene, Texas, Joseph Edward Hall was the first born child to Kyle and Gloria Hall. Two years later their family grew with the birth of his sister, Lucila and became complete with the birth of his youngest sister, Caroline. His father’s work moved the family often and Joseph’s closest friends were his sisters. By the time his family arrived in Lincoln, Nebraska in 2005 they had lived in 17 different cities. Finally able to settle down and call somewhere home, Joseph began working as a general manager at his father’s restaurant.

Doing well and living on his own, Joseph wondered if this is what he wanted to do forever. Joseph loved his father and wanted to make him proud by following in his father’s footsteps, yet he craved more adventure and excitement. In 2006 on Joseph’s 21st birthday, he and his father flew to Vegas where they saw an Elvis show. Joseph became intrigued. Back home, he visited a local karaoke bar and did an Elvis song. He loved it. From the reaction of the people there, Joseph and his father decided to put on a Halloween show. They hired a local Elvis Tribute Artist and sold tickets to employees and friends. They decided Joseph would come up and sing a few songs. Joseph dressed in a jumpsuit and hoped the audience wouldn’t laugh him off the stage. He didn’t know if he could do it. He was afraid to make a fool of himself. He had this urge to run from the show at full speed. Yet, he did some push ups, took a deep breath and overcame his fears. Once he got on stage he knew this is where he wanted to stay forever. The look in the eyes of Elvis fans only urged him more. There was a great response from the show and a local bar owner booked Joseph for his own show. He was elated.

He began to practice, reading and watching everything he could about his new idol. From his first booking came another booking and soon he was busy every weekend with a new gig. After several shows he was convinced he was ready to try a competition. On March 8th, 2007 he was in a hotel room waiting for a flight to Kentucky for his first competition, when he got a call saying the birth of his son was coming 3 weeks early! He rushed back home for the coming of his beautiful son, Presley Hall.

Now being a proud father, he was even more determined to make his dream come true. In June 2007 he entered another competition in Marion, Kansas for the preliminary rounds of the first Ultimate Elvis Competition in Memphis, Tennessee. He came in first place and earned his spot in Memphis. He was scared to be in such a big competition with some of the best guys in the business. He was happy to be among them and had no idea he would place in the top 5. After only ten months, he was booked to perform for the first ever Elvis Cruise sponsored by Elvis Presley Enterprises. Thru the competition he was able to meet many amazing people and was featured on Good Morning America and USAToday.com. He began entering more contests and booking as many shows as he could.

Still working at the restaurant during the day he had very little time for practice, shows and his family. Joseph made the hardest decision in his career. In September of 2007 he told his father he wanted to concentrate on entertaining full time. With his father’s support Joseph moved at full speed pursuing his dream and becoming a star.  In January 2008 he was asked to play the lead part in Lincoln’s Community Theater’s version of the Broadway musical “All Shook Up”. Once, the play came out, Joseph was overwhelmed by the positive reaction he received.

Joseph began setting bigger goals and higher expectations for himself. His father mentioned to him there was an audition for “America’s Got Talent” in Chicago. He flew to Chicago and performed in front of the producers. They loved it and he was sent through to the next audition to perform in front of the celebrity judges, Piers Morgan, David Hasselhoff and Sharon Osbourne. He flew out to Los Angeles and performed Hound Dog with a live audience and the three judges. The crowd went wild and the judges loved him. It was this round where Sharon Osbourne made the infamous comment to Joseph, “I have shoes older than you, but I’d like to try you on”. They sent him to Vegas cuts and from there he was in the Top 40.

With the 2008 Summer Olympics starting, America’s Got Talent was on break for the summer. Joseph decided to take an offer from “Legends in Concert”, the world famous live tribute show. He flew out to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina where he performed 60 shows in 6 weeks and loved every moment of it. He enjoyed playing with a live band and meeting new people each night. As soon as Joseph returned home from Legends he was off to Memphis for the 2008 Ultimate Elvis Competition. Joseph was back in Memphis for the biggest competition of the year. Only 22 performers from all over the world qualified to compete for the chance to be the 2008 Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist and Joseph was one of them. Performing two days and five songs, Joseph won 3rd Place. He was thrilled to be among such incredible talent. With no break, Joseph was off to L.A. to continue with “America’s Got Talent”.

Each week he performed live in front of over 4 million viewers and each week he was voted to the next round. Over a hundred thousand people tried out for the show and Joseph had made it into the top ten best acts in the country. Satisfied with his performance and excited to be moving forward and going back home, Joseph was called back to “America’s Got Talent”. They asked him to help showcase the winner of the show at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Joseph, along with other chosen acts, opened in the Garden Arena. The screaming fans, out of control women and the Vegas lights made Joseph feel on the top of the world. Two years ago he was performing in front of 12 people at a karaoke bar and now he was in front of 5,000 people performing in the entertainment capitol of the world.

Joseph has performed all over the country including: Nebraska – Iowa – Kansas – Memphis, Tennessee – Wisconsin – Chicago, Illinois – Bahamas – Las Vegas, Nevada – Los Angeles, California and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He has been featured in the media locally and nationally including appearances on Good Morning America, USA Today, Fox News, The Morning Show, NBC’s America’s Got Talent, AOLvideo.com, nbc.com and myspacetv.com. He is at the highest point in his career and will continue to climb to the top.
